Grrr, 10gb and £3.24 later and Mass Effect is doing nothing. Double click, select play, wait a few seconds and then I get told Mass Effect has stopped working.

Don't worry mate, it's a crap game anyway. Boring, same old, same old.

Hmm no idea how to get ME to work for you, maybe try cat 10.6, though i doubt this will fix it is allways worth a try!

ME1 was amazing, with possibly my favourite game storyline of all time.

I gave in and bought ME2 for 18 quid in the sales. Been holding out as i have sooo many other games from steam sales. I am going to enjoy this baby though!

lol, that makes everything better!

O definently, I love spending money on things that don't work

Doubt it too, but none the less I shall give it a try in the morning!

EDIT: FIXED. Ran steam as administrator. No idea, but awesome :)

I'm not sure why ME won't run on your system. Did it install correctly? When you first tried to run the game after completing the download, did you see the instillation windows (i.e. Direct X, etc)?

It either didn't install correctly or you could try shutting down steam and right click the shortcut to run steam as administrator.

I can't help but laugh at the way Shepard runs in ME.

Couldn't they have given him a manly run rather than this backside pushed out sailor jog? It's even funnier when he delivers this heroic line then jogs off.

I'm really hoping I'll like this but the shooting mechanics are terrible and I'm a hardcore FPS player. Story is great so far but if the character controls and game mechanics are clunky then its all worthless.

Um, you didn't read the last sentence in my updated post :D But thanks anyway :p

What? Wow I swear most people I know who play it, love it.

I've actually not been much into the RPG genre since Final Fantasy 8 and 9. I've been told by a mate this one is a bit more shooter based then things like say Fallout 3. Find out later today whether he's telling the truth :)

Female Shepard has a better run and way better voice acting, it's a whole better game with female shep, she says it like she means it :)
