The Elder Scrolls IV - Oblivion.. what sorta game is it?

Howdy,

I know there is a thread about this game already, but I dont think this post would get read if I put it there as thats quite popular.

I just wanna know what sorta game is this? I've numerous reviews etc but can;t seem to get the info I want. Its not a Command and Conquor sorta game is it? Looking a the screenshots it doenst appear to be, but there might be elements of that in the game. I hate those style of game so would avoid it if it was.

I'm a big fan of fantasy sorta things, and use to love the Ultima games... is this similar to them but in 3d? i.e. A fantasy world with humans, animals and ... non humans?

Also is the game playable all the way thru in 3rd person mode? Ive seen screenigs of it in 3rd person and 1st person... fell this game would be much better in 3rd person?

Also is this a single player game? Or online only?

Sorry if this sounds a stupid thread, but I like the look of the game and want to know if its worth getting?

1st or 3rd, much better in 1st.

Definitely nothing in common with C&C. It's a first person RPG with action-oriented combat in a fantasy setting.

Its a very good game by the way, I just got it and its excellent. I dont think youll be dissapointed tbh, I dont normally play this type of game but I gave it a try and I love it.

It should play very well on your machine too, as you have a better set up than me and its plays quite well on mine, although I reckon I need another gig of ram.
