The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

I hope amazon ship mine out today, but from the forums over there it sounds like they won't ship till tomorrow, in which case RM better get to mine early on friday!

Hmmm, starting to thing ordering with Amazon may have been an error on my part. Still if it lands Friday it's all good, I won't get to play it till after work regardless.

Whatever happened to suppliers shipping games on the wednesday to cover for the possibility of a 2 day delivery? That always used to be the way...

I'm not getting a reply in the sound card section, does anyone here know if these will simply plug in and work with my X Fi Titanium HD soundcard?

I want to get them ordered for arrival by tomorrow / friday too.

of course not, their proper speakers not some crappy pc ones....each speaker needs to be wired +/- to 2 terminals.

so you need 4 terminals total, 8 for biwiring.

Oh :(

NVM then.

I cant find anything about the wires on it, I've seen others with these speakers pugged into their PC.

There have to be some plug and play studio monitors in that colour that will work with the Titanium HD!!! :(

It would be best to have an amplifier in between the speakers and the soundcard in all honesty.

That's what I have at the moment.

Its ok then, I'll just plug in two of my gigaworks THX speakers and the sub :)

I thought that the Titanium HD had a built in amp which is why I bought it, but thats probably only for the headphones.

So I'll just keep on using headphones I suppose. I wanted to be able to hear all the sound using big speakers and my hearing aids, but now I'll just have mono audio reduced by however deaf my still working ear is :(

Good thing I checked about those monitors before buying them.

My uncle works for the royal mail and yesterday they have started having two workers per van around here meaning they have to somehow do two rounds and finish at 2pm when they have been working past 2pm struggling to deliver having one person per van before. He told me to expect deliveries to be extra slow as people wont be getting there mail because of this change! i almost cried thinking i may not get Skyrim delivered!

Lack of PC copies to reviewers is starting to irk me a little.

Zero people have had a shot on a PC version of the game. Even at the special booth sessions. Always an xbox. :(

Mine dispatched at 9:38 too :D

Are there going to be any ati drivers for this game on release do we know? Im on crossfire and hope it runs well out of the box!

Also if it turns up tokorrow, can we use the old VPN trick?

Cheers :)

Don't think there's even been any confirmed PC footage. It'll be fine though, and if it isn't it'll be made better very quickly.
Modders to the rescue! Although it would be nice if I could play it nicely from day 1 :)

The SSD thing is a great idea! May invest in a SSD for this depending on the load times :D

Yeah, thinking about this, I think it starts to get complicated when Steam is involved. Think you have to run one version of Steam on the SSD, and a different install on the 'storage' hdd. To be honest, as I think my Force 3 now works, I'd be tempted to stick it as my OS drive, and use my 120GB SSD purely for games... Then again I actually have more than 120GB of games so this wouldn't actually work :s

Hopefully anyone will learn from this that if you want to play the game as soon as it releases you do not order the disk version !

Always go through steam.

Do you really want hundred of missing or scratched DVDs laying around? I don't even have a DVD player on my PC anymore - only a usb one fro installing windows.

It's a steamworks game anyway... And I want not only the map, but the experience of going to a midnight launch (first one - said that so many times now) xD

Also, seriously, how do you lose discs and scratch them?! I have all mine well organised and sorted out.. What's more, there is no way I'm putting all my Blu-rays on my PC as well as films... Storage isn't so cheap any more!

Pre-loading on steam now, Will take around an hour and a half, not bad really, it's almost a third of the size of MW3, how can that be? MW3 doesn't have any high res textures or anything
