This is the end, beautiful friend
This is the end, my only friend
The end of our elaborate plans
The end of everything that stands
The end

Man United V Sunderland.(k.o 19:45)
Premier league status for the inhabitants of wearyside hangs in the ballance tonight.
The eleven pointed band of beleaguered brothers need a result to stave off relegation until at least Monday when their bigger and better dressed cousins come rolling into the cathedral and airportless city looking for a win to push the outside chance we have of a UEFA cup spot on a ground where we have never lost.
Canny.
Its looking bleak for the mackems as they are playing the inform team in the league and Sunderland are without the only player capable of playing in this division.
Julio Arca has obviously been spending too much time in the Athens of the North and has caught the NUFC hamstring disease.

This is a massive weekend of football and my favourite weekend of the footballing calendar.
These fixtures always have a huge bearing on who laughs or cries come the end of the season and this weekend is no different.

Saturdays games include:

Arsenal v West Brom, 15:00
Bolton v Chelsea, 12:45
Everton v Tottenham, 15:00
Fulham v Charlton, 15:00
Newcastle v Wigan, 15:00
Portsmouth v Middlesbrough, 15:00
West Ham v Man City, 15:00

Newcastle go into the encounter with Wigan high on confidence after back to back league wins and Im confident of a win.

Sunday, 16 April 2006
Aston Villa v Birmingham, 12:00
Blackburn v Liverpool, 14:30

Monday is a big day too :
Monday, 17 April 2006
Charlton v Portsmouth, 15:00
Chelsea v Everton, 15:00
Middlesbrough v West Ham, 15:00
Sunderland v Newcastle, 15:00
Tottenham v Man Utd, 12:45
West Brom v Bolton, 20:00

Ha'way the lads.

Bolton must be some kind of trophy , thats twice I ve seen that phrase on here in the space of a few days.

Bit of a bizzare night , great result for sunlun , relegation and the title almost handed to Chelsea (unless they fail to win Bolton , natch).

Decent collective performance by Sunderland , individually they were gash though.
Still , they did better than most there (including us :o ) this season.

Wigan are in Toon today for their first ever league visit.

NUFC Squad:
Given, Harper, Babayaro, Elliott, Carr, Bramble, Moore, Boumsong, Ramage, Faye, Clark, Emre, Dyer, Bowyer, Solano, Shearer, Ameobi, Chopra, Luque.

Parker is out for the rest of the season with glandular fever.
Steve "The Power" Taylor is on the comeback trail and so is Englands Michael Owen (insert sarcastic waving arms smiley here) , he had this to say this week.
I have been running for about a week now, so everything is going to plan. I’m still on target to be playing for Newcastle this season, which, for now, is my real goal. My weight and my body fat levels are where they would have been even without an injury, so now it’s just a question of stepping up the ball work
Nice of you to mention your employers Mickey lad.

Referee today is Mr Token Blackman. aka Uriah Rennie aka the worst ref in the league.
This bloke has a real hate against our leader and punishes him at every given opportunity , its his last chance to send him off today.
He’s a magistrate apparently and I’d hate to be up in front of him. He’s also a black belt in some sort of high kicky martial art of some sort. Rumours that he patrols the streets of Sheffield at night as a yellow card-issuing vigilante are totally untrue.

We owe Wigan one today after league and cup defeats at their place already this season.
Hopefully we can carry our decent form into this game and get a result.

Toon FACT - Wigan are the 38th different side we have faced at home in the premiership.

Forza Toon , as they say in Turin.

Hehe , see ya later Steve Bruce.

Newcastle were great yesterday , first time we have won this season after going a goal down.
I think the last time we won after conceeding was feburary last year - Heerenveen away.
Superb win and two goals for the lion with Nobby getting my man of the match - bring on the mackems.

Derby Day!

Cant wait for tomorrow!
Posting this now as we have an early start in the morning - 8am in the boozer for drinks , bacon sarnies and "female entertainment".
Magic.

3600 Newcastle fans making their way into sunderland is a sight to behold.
The club has put on free busses from St James Park for around 2000 fans and there are also countless unofficial busses.
The police then close off a lane of the A19 and park up all the busses on it until the green light to go in.
All the roads are closed going in so its just a line of dozens of coaches snaking their way to the stadium.

As well as the locals who sit in the trees playing banjos , there are also locals who can walk unassisted and they stare at the busses making 2-1 gestures with their fingers.
They beat us 2-1 , 8 years ago.

We have a couple of injuries from saturdays game , the much improved duo of Bowyer and Ameobi are big doubts as is wor kieran who played 75 minutes on saturday which means he will probably miss the next three games

Bring it on!
We have never lost at the stadium of light and im super confident of a win for the just and righteous black and white cause.
It may be sometime until we go back there again , wait , I feel another song coming on...

We'll meet again,
Don't know where,
Don't know when,
But I know
We'll meet again
Some sunny day

Thats the first time in my life Ive left a match early. Was so close to leaving at 1-3, the fourth just rubbed salt in the wound and I had to leave.

The worst thing about it was that Newcastle werent any good, we just hit the sefl destruct button 4 times. Absolute madness. I really dont have a clue what happened.

What a day yesterday. :D

All was going great until the bus window went out on the way there then the day just got worse.
Hearded into the ground 1 hour before kick off , sold out of beer by 2:10 and a first half display as bad as I have ever seen.
The second half started a little better then 15 seconds after the introduction of Rocky Chopra the game was flipped on its head and there was only going to be one winner.
Bit bizzare really as we looked buried and sunlun were bossing the game but the goal just killed their confidence and we strolled the rest.
Goal 206 for the Lion in his last derby game and to give us the lead was well recieved by the newcastle fans behind that goal.
Some generous applause and one or two shouts of "well done sir" , all very civil.
The great man is going for a scan in the next few days to see if his season is over.

All in all an amazing day that couldnt have been much better , although it was freezing on the way home.

Kate Aidie , Steve Cram , Brian Marwood , Nial Quinn , Louise Taylor , Lottery winning rapist , Billy Hardy , the Ripper Hoaxer and Oliver Cromwell.
Can you hear me Oliver Cromwell , your boys took one hell of a beating.
:D
