The England Cricket Thread

England need a full review of the whole way that they do things. A lot of their issues lie with simple, silly little mistakes. Buttler's wicket is the perfect example. He should have reviewed it, he's the last proper batsmen in and they have two full reviews.

The top order batsmen need to stop playing the shots that they're going for. They keep poking at the ball when it should be left.

Those bouncers from Johnson should be left. I know it's a 90mph ball and it's easy for us to sit here and say "duck!" but honestly, they practice for this sort of stuff. Two quick dismissals in exactly the same way is embarrassing. Stokes should have known that the bouncer was coming and should have taken action immediately.

Lyth needs to stop scampering for runs at the start of the innings. He needs patience to bat it out and get his eye in, he needs to stop his need to try and get off the mark with stupid silly singles, and he needs to stop playing those wide balls which he knicks behind. To be perfectly honest he's had one big score and then nothing since then, so he actually needs to go.

I know Australia had a poor time batting, but today is a batting day and we're struggling. It's very poor.
 
^ Agreed, You might look at Australia's score and laugh, but we're not much further in front. You'd have expected England to take advantage of Australia's poor performance and set a nice high target - something half our batsman can't seem to achieve.

Why oh why is Lyth still in the line up. Is Cook seeing something in him that everyone else fails to see. He's utter ***** pure and simple!
