The England Cricket Thread

I can see exactly what will happen here. We'll be all out with a lead of 100 or so, Aus will get a stonking second innings score, leaving us with no option but to bat out for a draw, and instead, we'll be skittled for about 150 and limp to another embarrassing defeat.

In fact, I'm so sure, I've had a bet on it.

:D:D

As it is we were poor finishing them off and let it drag on but a great win and 2 solid innings from Bell was nice to see. I hope a win doesn't take away the questions that need to be asked of Lyth, he's been very poor.

Blown away at Lords and we returned the favour at Edgbaston, an awesome 2.5 days of cricket. Gutted for Jimmy though as he loves Trent Bridge but that said I think Finn and Broad on his home turf can handle it. Just need the TB grounds staff to give us a good British wicket :)

Gutted for my wife's friend who had booked a seat with her boyfriend to watch the match today (Saturday).

IMO Lyth has got to go. His shot selection is so questionable.

I've always thought Stephen Finn is a good bowler and wondered how he could be dropped for breaking the stumps during delivery especially as he was taking wickets. Difficult to win a match if the bowlers can't take 20 wickets. I thought his interview as man of the match was quite humbling.

Looks like Lyth is still in the squad and no one called up as a potential replacement.

We really ought to bring James Taylor into the squad. His county form has been outstanding this season.
