And Anderson starts again, he should have been dropped after the first test, absolute waste of a team space
The reasons for not dropping him are non sensical too. "You can't drop a man with so much skill and so many test wickets". Well at some point you have to otherwise we'd still be playing Ian Botham.

At some point it also begins to damage his legacy imo, which is a shame.

He has the best economy, by a fair distance, of anyone in the entire series. You don't pick individual bowlers, you pick bowling units. Ashley Giles was one of our most important players in the 2005 Ashes - despite not being dangerous he locked down an end while our seamers went at the other end. We lack a spinner of that nature now, and Anderson is doing a similar job.

Yes, he's not looked like taking a wicket and when Leach is back, or we find a few spinner, it should be Anderson who goes (if he doesn't retire after this series, which I can see him doing), but he's done a job. It's just not the exciting job we're used to seeing from him.

Ok so let's keep picking him indefinitely as long as he only goes for 3 runs per over. Surely the Spazball ethos requires that we take wickets.

If you read my post, you'll see that I've clearly not suggested that we pick him indefinitely. We pick him until a more appropriate option for the role becomes available, which at the latest is Leach's return.
