The England Cricket Thread

Ok that was absolutely comical from Stokes. He did have complete control of the ball until he started to windmill to throw the ball in the air to celebrate. Its not particularly similar to the Starc one at all.

Not out was the right decision. Utterly utterly mad.

Will be a shame if we have such a great series effectively ruined by the rain in the final two tests.

Glad to see most Englishmen are seeing sense and not trying to claim that was a catch from Stokes or cheating Aussies etc. Was actually a really good take, jumping one handed but of course every catch these days has to be launched 50ft in the air within 0.0001 seconds of being caught.
Genuinely think that's the match. You don't get Steve Smith out twice for less than a ton when he's batting like this
His average at the Oval is very high (88.. well higher now as he's not out) and he was saying in the interview at end of one of the previous days how much he likes it. No visiting batsman has scored more runs there in the history of test cricket, poor Don Bradman is trailing in his wake.

I think the weather might deny us a result here, which tbh currently looks in our favour. Maybe it's too soon for a post-mortem but, putting entertainment to one side, losing this series should go down as a failure. This is not a classic Australian side and England have had the better of the conditions in nearly every test, plus home advantage. Some of the errors we've made have been shocking, and the selectors are culpable too. Bairstow and Anderson have not been selected on merit. Anderson in particular is a legend but Tongue looked so much better than him this series and should feel hard done by.
