On what basis? Yes, he takes it cleanly but play hasn't stopped by the time he's grounded it - he's still moving. It's bad fielding.
Agreed if he lands and the ball pops out nobody questions for a Second that he’s dropped it some rule applies if he drags it along the ground. Not sure what all the temper tantrums are about.

Absolute scenes at Lords today! Not happy about the Duckett decision (though I understand the rationale) but I'll take 4 for 112 as good progress. Game on!

That's out for me ... and I'm praying for an Eng win.

The rule says you have to be in control of your body as well as the ball.

Yeah fair play on the rules, no argument.
257 tomorrow? Ya never know.

No idea why there is all the bleating about that catch. He grounded it. Comparing it to a wicket keeper throwing the ball in the air after a catch is frankly ridiculous and tells you everything you need to know about his bias.

Meanwhile, in the Women's Ashes, Australia wins at Edgbaston by four wickets with just one ball remaining! Amazing scenes!

Agree. It's more comparable to taking a diving catch and failing to keep the ball up. The fact that he should easily have been able to avoid grounding the ball and didn't, is just down to poor fielding.

Footnote: Above opinion of someone who only casually watches the occasional match.

Why are we even questioning if it's out. Australia lobby is crazy

Yeah not sure what all the whinging is about, the ball was on the ground. You learn that day one of cricket at school.

E: These two need to get a ton each for it to be a contest
