Soooooooooo who's playing it?
:)

I loved the first game. Finished it 3 times you know.
Including once about 2 weeks ago, in preparation for number 2.

But there's something..... 'off' about the new one.
Sure it's not as scary, and none of the mind games stuff is new. I dunno...... it's hard to pin down.
It might also be the new controls (and engine too? Is it a new engine?), Sebastian feels both floaty and sluggish at the same time. It's hard to describe.

Still.... now the negatives are out of the way, I will still say I'm having a blast, creeping around and trying not to get eaten. The enemies have certainly upped their game too. They are very twitchy. Makes sneaking up on them and getting leg/head shots MUCH harder.

How are YOU all finding it?

I wonder if the bush camera angles are on purpose?
After all, if you were hiding in bushes thick enough to conceal yourself, you probably wouldn't be able to see much either. :D

Damn, I guess all those years of PS4 enjoyment I had were wrong.
I wouldn't have wasted my time if I knew. Where were you when I needed you, NZXT30? :P

(seriously tho, the whole 'which is better for gaming' is an old argument for another time and another thread :) )

You can jump straight into number 2.
There's some callbacks and chat about what happened in number 1, but nothing too heavy.

In a nutshell, the protagonist went through something similar before in a mental hospital called Beacon. That's about it :)

I think I'm on the final chapter now. Seems like an ending anyway.
My save file says I'm at about 30 hours. Hahah !!
Yes, I've been taking it slow, searching every nook and cranny and stealth killing from the shadows like a ninja Batman :D

So yeah..... lots of value.

Right..... that's that finished :)

Here's some spoiler free thoughts. Starting with the negative....

1) It's not as scary as TEW1. I always felt 1 was scary because (for the first half of the game anyway) you felt it could be kinda real. Real stuff was happening. 2 feels like a video game from the get go in terms of the story, environment and enemies.
2) It's a little glitchy in places. The "quick sneak up and kill" skill you unlock seems to fail just as frequently as it works. Mainly if you're in a cluttered environment.
3) The final few chapters lack polish. No blame here. I know how game development works. Just saying what it is. 2D planes instead of models and invisible walls where you should clearly be able to run/walk/hide/go. It's nothing that will make you throw the controller down in disgust, but it's a shame.
4) Story is very disjointed. Changing tack half way through, just felt weird to me, like they didn't have enough good story for 1 game, so they put 2 weaker stories together.

Still, the positives....
1) Great length to the game. Took me ages to finish due to thoroughness, but I guess most people will be getting 10+ hours out of it.
2) Looks great. Don't care what system you're on, it's a nice looking game.
3) And the most major positive of all, it's STILL great masses of fun running around and shooting and sneaking and killing baddies. Some of the mid-bosses are annoying, but generally I had a blast from beginning to end.

Now..... do I play New Game+ or start again on Nightmare?
I feel getting some of the extra trophies will be easier on NG+, however that won't allow me to get the one for finishing the game on Nightmare or above :(
Decisions decisions.

Have just been trying to do Classic Mode (the top difficulty)

Made it to half way in Chapter 7, died, put me back to the beginning of Chapter 5, turned it off.... gave up on getting Platinum :p
