Fergie's said both Carrick and Evra will be rested for the game against West Ham, I'd hope they'll be joined by De Gea, Ferdinand, Evans & RVP as well (I would also say Cleverley but Fergie insinuated he'll be involved). Hopefully the team will be;

--------------Lindegaard--------------
Jones---Smalling---Vidic---Buttner
----------------Scholes----------------
-------Fletcher---------Powell-------
----------------Kagawa----------------
-------Welbeck--------Hernandez-------

Subs: Johnstone, Wootton, Rafael, Evans, Valencia, Young, RVP

Really could not care less if we go out of the FA Cup at this stage, maintaining the 7 point lead and keeping everyone as fresh as possible for Madrid has to be the priorities

First time we play Chelsea this season, first of 3 losses. Thankfully staying home with other things to do and resume interest in football for key league games.

Cant see us beating Swansea tbh, another competition we will soon be out of.

Meh Swansea are doing the whole, new(enough) to prem, inconsistent thing that most non established teams do, when everyone is at their best they can play really some amazing football, but they have quite frequent off games where they are pretty pap. Who knows who will show up and if Swansea will play at full strength.

he, Michu was inches from a hattrick(at least) against Villa but ultimately a brilliant first half performance and what should have been 4 or 5-0 up by half time ended up a draw with a not very good team.

Maybe more importantly, if we "rest" Walcott, and Gibbs, and Sagna, we might actually not self distruct.... though resting Walcott might mean a start for Gervinho :(

Arsenal can put out a really pretty decent team.... its these games where Wenger sometimes rests who he considers great, but are infact ****, that we sometimes put out a genuinely good team and play great :p

Newcastle should be trembling.....rumours that Vicente is back. Don't panic too much though, as I hear it might be cold on Saturday, so it isn't certain he will play....Is it a coincidence that we draw a prem team in the FA cup and suddenly Vicente is fit?

Would be good to get another look at Buttner, and be good to see Powell as well.

There was some chatter in the last couple of days about Powell going on loan to POSH (I appreciate you posted this before /during this time frame) - sounds like a crazy rumour on one hand, and yet viable on the other

Fergie has today been speaking of how thre will be few changes to the team vs WHU and that he will put out a strong side, also talking of how disappointed he is at our record in it of late.

He also said something about Rio hasn't won it since being here and that's been 10 years so we have to put that right. So I don't think we will see Powell in the cups soon or league so a loan to Champ/Prem with guarnteed games would be good I think.

Is this actually believable however?:D

Liverpool up next in the league (and even if they arent competing for the title this season, I think we can all agree SAF would hate to lose to them nearly as much as City :))

I would love Utd to get to another FA Cup final (its about time as he said), but with the league as it is now - on their day any team can beat any other team - and the horrendously hard UCL draw, I really dont know how to look at , in regards to importance, of the FAC

To be fair to the stags, thats probably how half the pitches in the country are right now.. been raining a fair bit. Even forests normal decent pitch is a turnip patch atm:)

Fingers crossed for said nottingham team though, while we ain't in any consistant form, oldham are having it worse atm.

Either way, 3rd round day.. reguardless of your team, footballs greatest day imo:)
