Yet if we get the oil from the falklands that strictly is ours. Then double standards spring to mind. We'd be sending troops there to have a pointless war with ourselves.

Nope..... Just about the UK/US wanting to get there hands on all the OIL. Besides we already own the Falklands so do we need a war?
So what your point has nothing to do with the posts topic yet you think it makes sense? There are other posts regarding that topic why not talk about it there
How are we having a pointless war with ourselves?
And where do the Argentinian stand in your view?
We invaded Iraq, Afghanistan......
Blew Libya up (though the libyans thanked us).
And now we are wanting yet more oil.

I was throwing something related in the mix. Oil

OH WAIT.

not sure what she thinks will come from this but i dont get it, a war memorial i can understand, but a museum to a failed invasion ?!
I say let's just get in there and give them a good kicking. Pre-emptive strike to put 'em in their place.
trolololol
Hollow words tbh, Argentina really have no appetite or resources for more conflict. It's surely just populist posturing.
The population of the MALVINAS aren't native. The British put them there. You cannot fill islands with your own citizens and then claim you have consensus from the population. We have no more legitimacy in the South Atlantic then the Turks do in Nortrhern Cyprus. How about home-rule for the Falklands.

Given there was no indiginous population home rule is exactly what the Falkland Islands have as a British Overseas Territory. The population of the MALVINAS aren't native. The British put them there. There is no aboriginal population of the Falklands, the descendants of the 1833 settlers there now is as close as you'll ever get to a native Falklander. Home rule, is in effect. The islands are free to govern themselves, and chose to remain as part of the UK voluntarily.
