Secret of Mana - arguably the best RPG ever

This game looks quite interesting and I agree on the clear inspirations from SoM and SoE.

Personally tho i didnt get into the SoM games as zelda on snes was the only decent one i thought or one that i could follow due to playing the previous new games.

Secret of Mana was so close to being better than Zelda on the SNES. The level design was better for Zelda in my opinion.

Perhaps my initial reply was a tad cynical, but only because SoM was SO good. Zelda was awesome too albeit single player.

I'm still hoping one day for a decent console update of Secret of Mana...oneday...

Totally. For me Secret of Mana is better than Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger, FF6 & 7! Especially in 3 player co-op - it's the daddy of old school jrpgs. It also has the best sound track to grace a video game. Ever. (you can probably tell i'm a fan

You're no doubt already aware of the sound track being on youtube but if not, you should definitely check it out.

I loved SoM, I never finished it though. Only got about half way through I think.
