Hi. Sure I must be being thick here, but just built a new machine on a Fatal1ty FC-ZE1 chassis. Couldn't for the life of me find a case speaker inside it......should it have one? or if not where's the speaker which should be doing the 'Beeping' during the 'POST' etc? on the Motherboard? Sorry if it's an idiotic question. Believe it or not system otherwise working OK. Thanks
 
some cases dont come with speakers, some are mounted in the fron compartment bit (behind the power buttons.

if you mobo has a speaker built in it will have a little round black thing with a hole in it, normaly the speaker cbale is bundled with the power and fron usb cables

it can only become useful for problem solving, eg you system wont boot and it will give a sequence of beebs and if you look in the manual you will be able to narrow down the problem!

hope this helps, if you want one buy a tiny speaker and wire it to the speaker pins o the mobo
 
Thanks. That's a great help. That's what I thought. Only for troule shooting. Whilst we're here, any idea where to connect the front ***/MIC sockets on the case to a P5N32-E SLI mobo? ...or is that a different section?
 
i would suggest reading the motherboard manual carefully. the mic/earphone / usb ports on the case should be labled. just plug them in the way required on your motherboard. if they are not labled then thats poor design tbh.

they should be in your manual under "front panel" or some such.
 
Thanks for the reply. Have read all manuals for the case and mobo, and searched their relevant web pages. can't find an answer. think there should be some way to connect them thro asus 'q' connectors but can't work it out....
 
whoops i have the p5n-e manual, will look for your manual and see what it says


ok well on the qconnector there is a bit marked speaker

when looking at the mobo with the cpu at the top of it and the pci slots at the bottom

the speaker connects to the top right on the front chasis connector

its from right to left

black space space red

REMBER THATS FROM LEFT TO RIGHT

however it may work either way
