Hello,

Just wanted to share my ps4 experience.

1) Purchased ps4 on February 2nd

2) Soon found machine to be excessively hot and noisy despite being placed in well ventilated area so on March 3rd talked to Sony who agreed to replace the unit. They also said they would send out postage labels that I would receive in 2 days, they arrived 7 days later.

3) I posted my pristine condition console back on the 10th.

4) A package arrived back from Sony on the 18th. I opened the box to remove the console and instantly noticed a scratch on the glossy top part along with other scuff marks. Then I checked the serial number and realised they had returned the same console. I plugged the console in and to my horror it now has the blue flashing light of death, it won't even boot into safe mode.

5) iI immediately call Sony and the assistant I spoke too doesn't understand what's happened so starts a new RMA process. He tells me I will receive postage labels within 50 mins.

6) The next day I call again because the email didn't arrive to be told that the previous adviser had not done it properly so we had to set up the RMA again. Thankfully the labels arrived within 10 minutes and now my PS4 is once again back in transit.

I'm shocked at all this, how can They send the same console back in worse condition than they received it?

And to top it all of My ps3 just died today half way through the last of us.

I can relate, had a faulty controller, got sent a whole new Killzone bundle and had to send old one back, all because it was a bundled item.

Thats bad - Id complain once youve got it all sorted - thats poor customer service. I assume youve got the details of who you spoke to etc...

ps3ud0

Hey,

Bought it from asda.

I will complain once it's sorted.

Cost me over 10 pounds for the calls too.

Worst customer service I've ever had.

Rocked my confidence in the ps4 to be honest, when I get a replacement I might just offload it and cut my losses.

You should have dealt with the retailer they are responsible and you would also retain your rights under the sale of goods act. Let them arrange returning it to Sony if necessary.

The PS4 is a hot running console and can be quite noisy at times.

lol

just because someone made a mistake somewhere?

personally if i ever had a faulty console I would deal with the retailer first, sony tend to send you back refurbs which aren't as reliable as brand new consoles. with it being this new into a gen though they may not have many refurbs so you may get a new one back but still, i'd rather go through retailer first.

you seem to have been extremely unlucky, your the first on here to report these issues and plenty of us on here have ps4's.

i've dealt with playstation call centres and many other call centres. it's hit or miss whether or not you get someone good on the other end of the call, if i feel like it's going to be a waste of time speaking to the current person i hang up and try again. for every bad call centre agent i imagine there are also good ones, so roll the dice and play again.

True what you say about the luck of the draw regarding customer service agents.

I was told the first time I would be receiving a new console. And again in the last call so if I don't get a new one it will be going back again.

when my ps3 died after 5 years and 11 months of use, i got a refurb which sounded like a hoover (no joke, it was insanely loud). that got send back for another refurb which had PSU issues and would randomly turn off, refuse to turn on and required unplugging from the wall to get it working again. that also went back for another and i tested the third one out properly and it was bulletproof.

i also got a £55 refund through SOGA from my retailer so the refurb only cost me £55 since I was out of warranty.

i sold the console when the ps4 came out for £100 and the current owner is pleased with it and it's still going.

so it's also hit and miss with refurbs, that is why I would have went to the retailer first.
