The girlfriend bought me this for christmas, and I am loving it :)

First off, comments on the bug-bears/technical bits:

Yes, you have to calibrate for each fight, but it takes 2 seconds to do it. You have to first calibrate with your arms out-stretched, and then in a fighting stance (fists together under chin). Literally stretch your arms out, press move buttons, then touch fists under chin and press again. Done.

Yes, you have to stand on the same spot, but it doesn't matter - it is actually a very natural thing given the way the game works.

There is also support for headtracking, but I'm playing in a not very well lit room so haven't enabled it yet to see what it does.

As for the game itself, it's good. You start as a street fighting nobody and must train your character and yourself up the ranks. There are various unlocks that can be done, mostly "dirty tricks" like Hammer Fist, Headlocks/Grabbing and so forth. There is multiplayer support, with gambling for in-game credits. You can gamble on yourself, or others as a spectator.

Essentially, it is a boxing game. The fights are good. Lots of technique needed, as well as speed and "power". The training has me sweating a lot, basically boxercising.

Anybody else playing this game?

:)

no but I might after reading that. do you need 2 move controllers? or a navigation one? I just have the starter kit a no games at present.

It's optional on the 2 Move controllers. I got it for Christmas and have only tried it with 2 Move controllers so 'm not sure how it works with only one.

I've only had a couple of goes on it so far but it seems to work OK. With head tracking enabled you are able to duck and do body punches.

I played it briefly at The Playstation Beta Rooms and thought it was one of the best Move games there. It was 10 times more responsive than any Wii boxing game so I naturally enjoyed it. I was playing with two Move remotes as well (expensive for 2 players) so I ain't sure what it would be like with a normal 'nun-chuck' type pad.

I got sent this as a rental, only played it briefly after seeing the reviews, but actually thought it was pretty decent. Was playing it with 1 move and 1 DS3, it was okay, but the basic control given by the hand with the DS3 was annoying, so I sent it back. I now have 2 moves, so I'll deffo be grabbing it again soon, in fact, that's pretty much the main reason I got the second move.
Btw, it's a genuine workout, I was a bit sore for a couple of days after playing it!
Oh and the head tracking works in my front room, it's pretty cool for dodging punches.

I'm playing with two Move controllers, but I think you can even play with no move controllers at all. Not sure if that'll be any good though. :)

Just seen a quick vid of this and it looks great. Is that Danny Trej? (not sure of the spelling) from the Machete film?
It certainly is. :)

Sure is a hard workout sometimes! The heavy punch bag and speed bag training sessions have me pouring sweat :p

Had a bit more of a go today, really starting to enjoy this game especially now I've added my points. Big punches are really satisfying and actually make you grin :D

It isn't perfect but it will give your a decent workout.

I just need to put the camera back on top of the TV for head tracking.
