Nvidia Will Clean Up In Its Next Results

Expect big numbers

The GPU maker named after a Roman vengeance daemon, Nvidia is set to announce a rather positive set of results today.

Looking at the hints we have been given, it looks likely that expanding the Pascal portfolio has been the best thing that the outfit has done and helped the GPU maker keep its growth momentum.

Pascal has been actively used by Nvidia to extend its leadership across its key growth markets: Gaming, Professional Visualization, Datacenter Acceleration and Automotive Electronics.

Money expected for the Nintendo NX switch which will finally put Nvidia in the console market. It also won a key contract with Tesla Motors to equip the latter’s cars for self-driving features. According to SEC filings this is what Wall Street is expecting from Nvidia tonight.

Interestingly the share price is down over 3% at present, although many techs seem to be down 2%+, including AMD which is down over 7% for some reason - not looked into the reason yet

It because all tech firms are scared of President Trump policies!

http://wccftech.com/trump-win-means-tech-firms/

Trump will ripped up current china trade policy and he wanted to slapped 45% tariff on import goods from china in new trade so that will mean USA customers will pay 10% more and also tech firms will pay a lot more to manufacture goods in USA.

That would possible be the end of Apple, AMD, Nvidia, Intel and others if they stayed in USA under Trump and super NSA rule so maybe they will move business out to china or UK instead.

Trump said it will mean BREXIT PLUS PLUS PLUS. It could mean 3 times worse than UK BREXIT. Thank to all americans idiots who voted for Trump, they all learnt absolutely nothing from UK BREXIT referendum aftermath which saw prices on all goods went up included foods. :(

I remember the American's making some quite negative comments about the UK and Brexit. Kinda funny now.
However, I don't think any US pres can just do what they want and thnk he himself will change his mind on things when the more qualified members of his team recommend different actions.
The country has had Arnie in lead role and Ronny Regan lets not forget :D

Also, I think the USA needs China. Words to win votes vs reality :)

that's a decent rise in margins too.. presumably that's the effect of lack of competition at the top end, where the margins are usually highest.

Don't forget their Tesla cards (finally replacing 2012 Kepler fo fp64 for eg) will also be a nice contributor, as well as their DGX1 at $130K!

Shares up 16% at present which surprises me a little but not a lot as people now expecting good sums when the new products arrive so are buying. Was looking to buy some if they dipped a tad. THey were down nearly 4% just after the results were first released. Also dragged NV along for the ride too - up 3.7%. Their results due soon in a week or two

Nvidia shares hardly moved overnight which after such good news can be a sign they're getting a bit 'toppy' for now. Might rally today though. Not read the details right through but think they're not as positive about the coming quarters as they have been so will likely see a slowdown in their insane growth thus far (over last year or so).

The market hasn't liked the news however....shares currently down 20% but probably a little overdone IMO. The hype train has broken down....... :D. I'm sure they'll be fine, just the market was expecting a little too much. Is it a sign of things to come for NV or will the news be positive. Tune in, in a few weeks time for the answer

If you consider that in Q1,Ryzen 7 was only out for the last few weeks for DIY and the odd higher end pre-built PC,its not too bad. It will be interesting to see how things look over the next six months with the Ryzen 3 and Ryzen 5 launches, the first Ryzen APUs,and more prebuilt PCs with Ryzen in them.

Agree with ya, could be a decent opportunity to buy in and it seems like AMD are trying to keep things sensible with expectations (better a little dip now than a big crash later if the market expects way too much). I remember reading recently, from a so called expert :D that even some time from now, if all the targets are hit it would only justify a $14 price tag per share. They were already near that so the best possible news x months from now was already in the share price it seems and maybe they were right.
