Is anyone else watching this show? I'm intrigued by the detective part of it and am still watching it i must say but (not to sound like a prude) genuinely, "bothered" by the way essentially every episode is just, crying tied up women being brutally and graphically stabbed to death.

Wondered if it was just me?

I'm not campaigning to have it banned, please don't take it like that i'm a firm believer that if something bothers you simply don't watch it, just felt it was a bit much?

Watched the first few episodes. First episode showed promise, and every episode after that was frustratingly terrible. There's a thread in the US sub-section.

I found it uncomfortable viewing, same as Hannible, just tv that came across as gory for gory's sake, and sick for sickness's sake.

In terms of the quality of the show, The Following had that unbelievable, Lost style every episode there is some unbelievably stupid , not twist, but, every ep there was a traitor type person who its simply too easy, too far fetched for someone new in every ep, and the gore/murder style felt like it was trying to be shocking for the sake of it.

Basically there seems to be a few shows around at the moment, where the writing and sensibility of the show mean less than the gore and writing a ridiculous twist every episode, that they've dressed up around the gore and dumb ass plot in The Following and Hannible with good casts, big budgets, doesn't detract from the fact that for me both shows are, cack, and aimed at people that buy into the gore and stupid stories.

Completely agree, I'm on about episode 7 and it seems there isn't a single person in law enforcement that isn't working for Caroll in some sense. It was an interesting format but ultimately you can't keep dragging the thread along of him being caught, everytime some of his "followers" are killed they just seem to introduce more to cover the empty space.
