The Foreigner

Looks good.

I see there's already people moaning about him playing a Vietnamese man.

Have these plums not worked out what acting is? Pretending to be someone your not is pretty standard for an actor. :)

Another sign that mankind is gradually getting more stupid. :p

Had he appeared as Taiwanese, Vietnamese, or some other nationality 20 years ago, no one would have said anything.

This film was excellent... The story is complex, but totally comprehensible. The direction of Martin Campbell and the editing keep the action moving and tight. This is not merely an action film; it's a tense drama about conflicting causes.

It’s not a bad film.

I’m also surprised how many places are selling it for £15+ when it’s available on Netflix.

I saw it a few days ago and thought it was really good. Don't think there was many things that felt over the top or cringe worthy and the story felt quite real as well.

Watching it, I could have sworn I had seen it before.
End credits: based on the book "The Chinaman" by Stephen Leather - that's why, read it ages ago.

Why call the film "The Foreigner" rather than "The Chinaman" though? Jackie's character was constantly referring to himself as a "Chinaman" throughout the film.
Probably some PC rubbish.

Edit:

Yeah, PC rubbish: https://www.monstersandcritics.com/...e-chinaman-but-the-term-is-used-in-the-movie/
