I'm going to submit a few of my favourite forgotten FPS games:

Half-Life 2
Doom 3
FEAR

See what I did there? Eh? Christ, what's wrong with you people!? Duke Nukem? AvP? Turok? These games are NOT forgotten! They've all either had sequels made for them, or currently have sequels in the making - can you please explain to me how that qualifies as forgotten? This thread has so much potential to be a brilliant trip down memory lane, but some people have some whacked definitions...

I do however remember when that Terminator FPS was released WAY back in the day. My fondest memory of that is when you shot the moon and it died :p

Thats what I was aiming for :D I think that was called Skynet or something wasn't it? Played SNES Jurassic Park the other day and there is FPS sections in that

Requiem avenging angel. Can't find a decent screenshot though :(
Basically you played an angel sent to earth to kick some ass. As well as the staple FPS weapons you got biblical powers like swarms of locusts and turning people to salt.

I've got a copy of that somewhere! I wrote a review on it for some random gaming website upon its release. It had a really good efficient 3D engine and was pretty cool :)

I had that, it was a great game. You could do somekind of astral projection, possess the monsters, and start fights within the mobs. Then wade in after the damage was done. Then when everything was slaughtered you could resurrect the dead so that they would follow you around as your minions. I used to think that was such a cool idea.

This is a guard being 'salted'...

Aye thats the one - quality :D

The one game I thought of straight away was Terra Nova :). I loved that game and played it for ages. It didn't do too well in the shops though, perhaps because of the system needed to run it nicely :(. It's now 10 years old.
Wiki (with some screen shots): Terra Nova

I remember playing a demo of terra nova - kinda reminded me of Midwinter on the Amiga.

I've just remember the South Park game as well. Thats one that got taken back.

First level involved killing about 500 turkeys with snowballs :(

Anyone remember the FPS from the late 90's that used the Half Life Engine. I think the game started out as a mod, but soon turned into a full release. All I can remember is you were shooting Raptors at some stage. I also remember it had a yellow box

I've been searching and searching. Just can't remember the name. It may have been a 2000/2001 release.

Holy thread revival! :p

I believe you are talking about Gunman Chronicles?

Omg, you actually updated as I posted :/

what about Heavy Gear? that game kicked ass

what was that game by microsoft where you had this jetpack and you'd fly around shooting people with your squad?

It would appear I have quite a good knowledge of these things :p, you are referring to Outwars I believe, loved playing that over LAN.
