Bought a purple Safari with the 1.1mm snub nib to go with the purple ink I bought a few weeks ago.

Blimey, I completely forgot about this thread. My sister gave me my Dad's old fountain pen, which is really nice. I just need to get some replacement nibs for it now.

Mine are all dried to heck; and each time I service them I get distracted/never fully complete the job .

More details here. NASA didn't spend a penny on making pens work in zero gravity, it was all done by Fisher.

I spoke to Waterman about the fountain pen I mentioned above, and apparently, they no longer make it or parts for it so they have offered me 50% off a brand new fountain pen. They have some really nice ones so I'm looking through what is available.

Yeah, it isn't great. I'll put it on the to-do list .

Not a fountain pen question - but has anyone found a pen that writes as well/effortlessly without the maintenance of a fountain pen? E.g. like a gel pen or something? My lamy ballpoint is giving me wrist ache and my other fountain pens are all in disrepair at the moment...

I use Pilot G2 07 pens as my day to day writing tool. Cheap and feel good in the hand and to write with.

This reminds me of that famous JML ad from decades ago, where he'd smashed the alu can with the pen. Oh and it came with like 30 other pens for free lol.

I've only written a page or two at the moment but I really like the fine nib and it feels incredibly smooth to write with. I'm happy with it so far. Teamed up with some purple ink and it is great .

Used to have a good collection but sold most of them due to never using them.

I must have had about 12 or more Parker 51 vintage pens and bought the tools and learned to fully service, repair and restore them.

Most of the nibs are well worn these days but they were amazing pens with very high quality materials.
