The Fray - How to Save A Life

There was a discussion a long time ago in this very forum about this band. A lot of people said they'd be big when Radio 1 caught on and they have, and I expect they will.

You might have heard it then. :)
 
It was at least in the Scrubs season 5 episode "My Lunch", and possibly also has been in Grey's Anatomy but I'm not sure.

Great song, okay album.
 
There was a thread about it back in the day...and I stick to what I said back then...

Best band in the world at this moment in time...Album is a mindblowing piece of work...

To be honest im shocked its took radio this long to catch on...Not to mention the record company decided to release how to save a life over here first, instead of over my head...which was the song that made them what they are in the states...and by that...they are by far the biggest band in the states at the moment

Glad I got my ticket to see their headlining show at shepherds bush! :D
 
Look After You is a better song I think.

My bro bought the album a while back and it's good but not great.
 
Someone said on R1 that it makes Nickelback sound like Napalm Death - which is about right. I bores me, I don't understand the fuss :/

You'll all hate it after it gets massively overplayed too :)
 
A band which grew a fanbase from myspace and got promoted way too much by chris moyles. Maybe the fray sound nothing like them, i havent heard them, it just sounds the same sort of situation to me. It's not even been released on cd yet and its in the top 40 from downloads alone, with the help from radio 1 im guessing.
 
I think its a really great song. Every now and then I hear a song and just instantly love it - this is one of those songs.
 
Well the Fray are supporting the Feeling on their next tour, as the feeling opened for the Fray on their last American tour...

It was inevitable that eventually Radio 1 would get ahold of the Fray and start playing the hell out of them, but to be honest...What other ways are there around it these days??

No they havent released the single yet, but to be honest..Id much rather someone hear it on radio 1, enjoy it, download it..buy the album, enojoy that, so the fray can spend some more time playing over here..and get the chance to record another album...

They are playing the hell out of it, because they really are that good...

Its fine for a band to get a myspace gathering, but to be honest, if thy are that good Radios will pick up on it and play the hell out of it, because it is good..
 
Not heard much from these before (I don't listen to the radio :p) but having listened to a few now, it sounds alright.. but nothing new. Maybe I'm not in the right frame of mind, it's not bad. It just sounds a bit bland.
 
Yeh I'd have to agree, that particular song "how to save a life" is amazing, but the album can't live up to that song. Saying that, it's a decent listen just nothing great.
 
Who cares if Radio 1 'get hold of it' and play it loads? It doesn't change the actual song does it?

I've never heard The Fray on the radio and i've had the album for some time, but i'd be only happy to hear it.
