Just found that paint.net can be made as a portable app and run straight off your pen drive, no more being without your favourite apps again
As long as .NET Framework 2 is on the machine.
Just use uniextract to extract it, extract the .msi, copy the folder to your pen drive, delete the copy of the .msi from within this folder, and it comes in at 9.78MB, then just add a shortcut to PStart or whatever you use as a front end for launching all your portable apps, or just run PaintDotNet.exe
It does add a registry entry when first run on a PC, so is not a true 100% portable app, but I still think it is better like this as it preserves the directory structure based on the machine it is run off (Basically it won't try opening a non existent drive),so if round a mates, you have got the app with you.
