The G.E.C.K - Vault Tec component.

Love this, been scouring ebay for one since for a cheap gaming pc for my nephew. Looking forward to seeing the case!

I have resorted to buying a WiFi extender with a lan port..

The wifi on it doesn't seem to work fully so I can't download games. It might just be the antenna on it but the extender will give me a physical lan.

Its due for delivery later which sucks, but I should still have time to play with it today.

Plastic is now shipped and should come tomorrow being DHL Express.

Ugh. Well the internet here at mum's is bad at the best of times. 40 meg if you are lucky. Just lately though it has been particularly bad. As such I just don't have the patience.

The WIFI extender worked but not in the way I thought. The LAN port is not an output it seems. However, it does work for this. Not LAN, but as an extender. I was correct in saying the antenna was getting a poor signal.

Oh the feet arrived a while back too.

They are just "drift bonnet lifters" or something. Cheap AF (about a fiver) and available in lots of colours and come with all of the bolts needed. They look lovely when fitted.

Oh and I was indeed correct. The plastic *is* coming tomorrow.

I am glad they came early. Mum left for the hospital just after it arrived, giving me time to make some machine noise without consequence :D

I have a spare yellow and a spare blue just in case something horrid happens lol. Thankfully the most risky panels are the small ones with all of the intricate detail. The rest use a 2mm bit which I can't see snapping tbh.

Aaaaaaaand jinxed!
I've got mine roughly trammed in the Y axis, now have to do the X and then I can work out if the gantry is true to the bed....which is definitely not flat.

Nah dude you don't get it. A few weeks ago I shoved that bit through acrylic at the max settings. I didn't remember to drop them. It didn't snap. like 700mm a minute madness. I've never snapped a larger bit than 1.5mm tbh. It is the 0.8s that like to snap.

Edit, and you should have heard the racket it made. Sheesh !

Well something went wrong.

The blue piece is completely wrong. I have absolutely no idea why, but yeah it's bin fodder.

Traced it back to a SVG, put it back into Easel and it fits perfectly.

What a bummer lol. Will cut another one tomorrow.

So yeah. Here is the blue piece overlaid onto the yellow one.

Yet, with a re-trace of the blue part it looks like this *scratches head*

I have absolutely no idea how that went wrong. Oh well, at least it wasn't a whole piece ruined (just half). It all needs cleaning btw. The mess is powdered cardboard mixed with masking tape adhesive. I don't have my 99% here so I bought some more that should arrive tomorrow.

Bit snapped. Ugh.

Thankfully I came up with a new idea. Bottom left on the piece you can see a small mark. I use the manual control to mark exactly where the bit started. In the past if a bit snapped the piece went in the bin. However, now that I have learned to mark it? I just changed it out to a 1.6mm bit and started the machine again.

I sat in for the first two goes around and yeah, it is absolutely bang on. So hopefully it will now stop being annoying.

Success !

Funny, because as soon as I lifted it off the spoil board I knew it was OK. So yeah, god only knows what happened there. Might have been file corruption or something strange like that.

Oh. It is masked obs. I need to drill the holes to hold in the fan before it gets attached to the blue as they are captive. So I masked it and marked it all out last night.

First pic - the outer blue rear part of the case. Second pic - the inner yellow part. Note I have added vents to the side of the BC 250 to allow air over the rear mounted RAM cooler to vent.

Large hole is for the IEC socket, other one is the enable switch. I will do these panels next, probably starting Tuesday when I return (have to go home for two days to get meds etc).

I reckon it just shows you're not trying hard enough! ;) :D
Been watching a bunch of 'How to be less clueless' videos as I know the concepts but not the implementation. .... I'll let you know when it's worked! :D

Well even with the old machine that loved to jump the bit it never snapped one of those 1.5mm burrs. I now need to find the 2.5mm end mills I bought because I failed to locate them the other day. I think they may be downstairs at mum's somewhere.

Currently at the flat. Accidentally had a parcel sent here so now I am waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow. Will get cracking as soon as I get back.
