The G.I.M.P and the likes... (OSX)

Hi people, I've recently installed The G.I.M.P on OSX,

I kinda like it because it's Free but it runs with X11. I don't really like the feel. I'm still learning it, can't seem to even find the eclipse shape - I was trying to make a symbol.

Any site out there that's good for a newbie guide to GIMP?

Is there any other proggy that's lighter or on similar level to MS Paint-ish. I tried Pixen 3.0 but it kept crashing

Try Chocoflop which is free, for the moment

Other options are GraphicConverter, PhotoTools or iMaginator but they are not free.

There are lots of other photo/image editing apps, try a search on the ApPple Made 4Mac section of the website.

Thanks AJUK, I think I'll stick to opensource/freeware applications.

So many programs out there trying to be the next photoshop but none for the intermediate who wants something simpler. Pixen fits what I want but oddly enough, it kept crashing.
