I've noticed a tendency for advertisers and organisations to avoid the word 'Olympics' and instead say 'The Games' or something when referring to the Olympic Games this year.
A local radio ad coyly referring to 'The games this year' and an email from McDonalds I just received talking about 'The London 2012 Games' and seemingly avoiding saying 'Olympics' as if it's copyright and they'd get in trouble for calling the Olympic Games by that name...
And I discovered that, well, that is about right.
