Am currently looking to get a gift for a friend, he's just got a Dell XPS M1730 but is still using some hideous old Generic Dell mouse.

Since I have a poor imagination and just can't think of anything else, I figure I'll get him a decent gaming mouse.
I'm not very clued up on mice however, still using an Notebook Intelimouse 3000... Seems to be a few on OcUK that look decent, I just wanted to get some opinions on what IS decent.

Budget would be up to £40 I guess.

Thanks for any help. :)

I got myself a Razor Coper head and it is the best mouce i have ever had!!! you should take a look, but my mate just got a G5 and he says that is hard to get used to, but once you do its amazing.

Why not read reviews?

I use the creative Fatal1ty 1010 mouse as it fits how I hold the mouse (like a claw), yet my friends don't like it and prefer Razer, because they are designwed to be moved by the palm.

Microsoft mice seem to always get good reviews.

I use my Razor with.............THE CLAW!! i find razor better for claw but each to his own :D

I got the Razer Copperhead last week. Outstanding. It's hard to explain how it does what it does. I recommend turning the sensitivity on max and just get used to it. Got COD4 at weekend and after a day of playing it, i'm always in top 5 on the heavy populated servers. I'm not really an FPSer either.

Basically, i can kill at will, and they die before they even shoot, it's like i have endless time to kill players, only dying purely from my own mistakes. I wouldn't say i'm a good player at all.

I'm also a 'claw' user, which these razer's are designed for, but i find that the Copperhead fits in my heand (small and skinny :p) so well, i used both methods. It looks ace too.

However, the side buttons are problematic, as they are quite difficult to press with ease due to their location, palm users would struggle with them and i often press them accidentally. Also a good mousemat is a must. I bought the Razer ExactMat. Again is great, the control side makes accuracy child's play. For £35, the mouse, a price of a game, is great value.
