Back again for another season- starting tomorrow.

Really got to question who the hell would work for jock though after how he treated his staff in the last series (the production company posted on another car forum i'm on about getting 'staff' for the show, most people told them where to go).

Also- anyone else find the quality of so called 'mechanics' on some of these shows are a bit crap? I.E. Edd China on wheeler dealers tonight- using an airgun to do up alloy wheel nuts followed by a breaker bar on the locking nut :/

Jocks problem in the last series was the fact the Sandy (the Allan Shearer soundalike) seemed to be the only person there that had a clue about what he was doing, and he got homesick and/or a better offer and went back to the UK.
:)

As for your problem with the airgun, what do you recommend, a spanner?. Obviously you've never needed to undo a murder tight wheelnut.

LOL, breaker bar! Pretty sure you'd find that was a torque wrench! What does amuse me though is mechanics who whippy gun the wheel nuts up then use a torque wrench on them! I mean  Your whippy gun would have oblitereated the nuts recommended torque setting yonks ago, but you still have to waste everyones time by doing the 'click click'

mate, swear to **** it was a breaker bar- I do know the difference between the two :p

As for undoing tight nuts, then yeah, an impact wrench is handy but usually either a wheel brace or breaker bar combined with 14.5 stone and a size 9 boot does the job for me :)
