Does anybody remember this old show? My now sadly passed Aunty and Uncle would go see this show at Leeds, and they got right into it, dressed up like Lords and Ladys so they were, and fair play, because that was their thing.
I mean, am no spring chicken now either, but still enjoy my occasional rock show and guess they would frown on me for not dressing further than a pair of jeans and a T-shirt.

Oh dear, tried to cancel this post because it was not complete, made a mistake, am new here to this, so please forgive my clumsiness LOL, so will carry on regardless now.

The Good Old Days was an olde worlde show where folk went for purely innocent fun ... I got a wee thrill discovering this show again because my Auntie and Uncle would always brag to my Mum and Dad they went to these shows and I cant help but laugh because that's exactly what I do to my pals after coming back from a really good Rock show ... Rammstein at Coventry in June for example :)

What a grand old show The Good Old Days was though, it looked like a lot of fun and from this clip, not an unhappy face in the audience ... different times for sure.

Very cute and bought a smile to my face for sure.

Apparently Leonard Sachs, the rambunctious announcer man, is NOT the brother of Andrew Sachs, Manuel off of Fawlty Towers, as I have been labouring under the assumption he was for the last 40 years. Urban myths really were that much more difficult to check in the good old days without t'internet. I was going to post, did you know the announcer man was Manuels brother? Thought I'd better google it to be sure, then I was like, oh.

Whereas John “Gladiators, you will go on my second whistle” Sachs is Andrew Sachs’ adopted son.

It was shown weekly on BBC Four for a few years.

Leeds Varieties is still going. Saw Russell Howard and Al Murray there. It’s tucked away down a narrow street
