The GPS on my iPad Air2 is completely nerfed

I bought said tablet about 2 weeks ago and decided today to try and use it as SatNav in my car and neither Google or Apple Maps works.

With Google Maps the SatNav voice will give it's first direction and then nothing happens after that, the map does not move and I get no directions whatsoever.

With Apple Maps it just says "you current location cannot be determined" (or something to that effect. I've been all through the settings in the iPad and the two respective apps making sure everything to do with location is tuned on which it always has been.

Is there any kind of conclusive test I can run to determine if the iPad is actually faulty or not?

Is it a wi-fi only model by any chance?

Yeah it is. I had it tethered to my phone though.

No GPS: SPECS, so not nerfed/faulty.

You'll get compass direction when looking at a map (tethered OR wifi), but that's about it.

Ah, that's a bummer. It never occurred to me that a £300 tablet wouldn't have GPS.
