Can't see that working too well, Francis seems such a odd choice.

Trying to squeeze already known people into this isn't going to work imo. They already have fans and as soon as the script changes how they would normally act it will be jarring for those fans.
 
Personally it's a poison chalice. TG found out same thing, love the trio or hate them but they were successful, at the time TG and TGT is what the demographic needed and wanted. Doesn't matter who follows the trio the new ones will get panned imo. As new presenters I would avoid it like the plague.
Clarkson hammy may were unique as they gave the views unsugarcoated. Which is frowned upon buy certain section of society.

The next series should have the following

No jokes
No laughing
No offensives statements
No explosions or fast cutting scenes
No smiles
No louder than normal speaking.
All in a monotone voice
Maximum speed of 10mph even on fast lap
Every car review should be a brown austin allegro

Problem with TG, and often the case for any of the more successful attempts at similar, post Clarkson they often had 2 out of 3 when it came to presenters but never got that trio which really played off each other - Chris Harris was great but they never had 2 other complimentary presenters - one of Flintoff or McGuinness would have worked but not both of them and IMO Flintoff grew into the role well while McGuinness not so much which meant there was never that 3rd presenter who made it all gel.

That said even just James May and Richard Hammond make for some great watching together without Clarkson and I don't even find Hammond that interesting as a solo presenter.

Personally I think this reincarnation of the TGT is going to run into a similar problem - one of Thomas Holland or James Engelsmans would work but not both and I think Thomas Holland actually fits the TGT mould better, along with Francis it could work if they found that 1 other presenter who can really play off the two of them.
 
Well its either no more Grand Tour or a revised attempt at Grand Tour with various casting events to work out the chemistry.

I cant see the issue with the latter over the former!

i aint that old :cry: , was a beige colour 1100 3dr. sadly didnt last long as it generally rusted by time you got the end of the street, only beaten in longevity by my red maestro that rusted just by looking at it:cry: clarkson

remember TG with Clarkson doing a worse ever car and i owned them both a marina and allegro.
 
yes - maybe they can return & update the family programme it used to be (such diversity makes money for amazon/netflix)
just like doctor who, or bmw ?, it's been going through a bad patch.;

their review for my last car.
