The Great Escapists

I saw on my TV’s Amazon Prime app last night that it only had 2 stars. It must be truly awful as those app review systems always seem to give everything 4+

I had it on in the background yesterday, nothing like Mythbusters or other shows that have attempted this, the things 'they' make are clearly done by a team of people and they don't try to hide it that much or do you get the feeling that they could actually build it themselves. The annoying red dot to make it look like some of it's shot on a phone was more distracting than it needed to be.

Wanted to like it but struggled with episode 1. It can't really seem to decide what it wants to be/who it is aimed at.

In some respects it seems like a show aimed at kids but then has some fairly grown up jokes, etc. in there but doesn't have that bridge which would make it a good show for a parent to watch with their kids kind of thing.

I managed 2 or 3 minutes in and it felt confusing...is it meant to be a comedy tv series about 2 friends? Is it meant to be a "how to survive" docu?

Felt so cringe and awkward. Such a shame as I was looking forward to it.

I’m obviously in the minority, but I’m enjoying it. Yes it’s a bit cheesy and false, but the contraptions they’ve built are great. Yes, I know it’s an expert team that does it and not them, but it’s still entertaining. Better than Mays dull as dishwater Japan and cooking programmes.
