source: me,
my 10 yr old dell, a few years past retirement
a cheap ips secondary monitor
excuse the pink (i need a new phone too)
Sooo my friends excuse the slightly crazy consumer rant, sorry its been months of stewing over this now, and ive almost given up, may settle for a cheap 1080p gsync, for the next year but dammit my pc deserves a ultra wide gsync 1440p!! I've brought a new pc last year and its amazing every day i wait for a new monitor is another day my dell is off retirement, and ive tried 2 new monitors namely the acer(s) sigh x34 and the 270hu gsyncs
Bright imagery, gsync, games and 21:9 100/144hz were amazing 10/10
Back light bleed dark imagery is not 0/10.
IPS GLOW / Viewing Angle Shine 0/10
Also coil whine 0/10
luckily no banding (unlike the oled tv i tried) n/a
source: acer forum
So i sent them back with regrets, alas their not ready and not at a standard i expect and i blame w-led backlighting and qa process at a £1000 almost its kind of cray cray.
Is it a lottery? I watched a video with linustechtips and he had 7 x34's hooked up! Crazy. Or is it a sponcered lie?
Not to mention
1) VR (where is gsync on vr's? 3d/90fps may create stutters)
2) Oled: Dell's oled is basically plasma, and its got a new set of issues] that will effect the monitor industry i expect thats a factor in why they arent pulling their weight in improving their product (quantum dot?)
Im willing to spend £1000-£1500 on a good monitor not a sub-par one!
Anyone else feel like this?
#whatdo?
Regards
