I had a crazy idea.. Why don't we find out who the favourite guitarist on OcUK is.

Basically, I thought everyone could post one guitarist which they would want to enter to be 'the greatest ever'. I know everyone has more than one favourite uitarist, but if you had to pick just one (maybe two ;)), who would it be?

A video would be nice to show why your guitarist has been entered. :)

When there have been enough suggestions, we could select the most popular and then maybe have a poll?

Anywho, I'm going to enter Tommy Emmanuel. He's played in many different styles and ways leading upto his blistering acoustic playing which everyone now knows him for. His charisma on stage is unmatched, and many say the same for his technique.

Clive Carroll is easily one of the best guitarists in the world today, and that ever has been. He's comparable to every guitarist you've ever seen in that style. He just can do it all.

And by the way, just because all of these songs are on the acoustic, don't think that's all he plays. He's unbelievable on the electric guitar and the banjo as well.

Although Mongrain is very good, I've always been very fond of him (that piece in particular is fantastic) I wouldn't say he's THAT good.

EDIT: After watching that video again (haven't seen it in a while), I'd say he is very good actually.
