The Greatest Video Game Endings of All Time - SPOILERS!

FFVIII really really deserves that :)

I hate to say it but I haven't even played the others, let alone finished them!
 
never liked final fantasy... no idea why people like it! Didn't think it was a very good game, plus I couldnt tell you which game to start with. all too confusing!

Best game ending for me was Call of Duty 4 (including the extra level at the end!).

You're missing out on (in my opinion) the most emotive method of storytelling there is. Final Fantasy quite literally changed me, I value it similarly to the way many people do certain novels.

Agreed with the COD4 ending being good though, it's definitely one of my favourites.

Hiya, never got into the series myself, although I'd like to give it another try as I was only young, no idea where to start, too many these days

I'd recommend VIII. I understand the general consensus is that VII is the best and yes, it did bring some great features however I feel VIII builds on those features and the way the story is told in such a fluidly cinematic way makes something hugely more emotive than any book or film I've ever read/seen.

I promise I'll stop pimping it now :p

Focuses a bit too hard on the lovey dovey relationship between squall and rinoa IIRC. Played it a good 6-7 ish years ago though.
 
Have to say both Metal Gear Solid 1 endings, by far the most emotional and involving ending, and game i'v ever seen/played.

Indeed, FFVIII was an awesome game; however the junction system borked the gameplay aspect (for me, anyway) - yet, the story was great.

I still prefer VII -> VIII but that's mostly because it's the first one I played.

VI completely owns VII!
 
Mafia's ending is my best game ending. It hits you so hard, and emotionally too.
I thought Mass Effect's ending was brilliant too, and ranks as one of my favs.
