The Happy Thread

I got another lot of test results back today - I'm not infected with any nasty viruses, my immune system isn't compromised and my kidneys are working fine. My liver disease isn't bad enough to be having major effects. I'm in for a echocardiagram next week because a fault in my heart is a good candidate for the cause of the pitting oedema in my legs, fatigue, etc and I'm in for an MRI sometime soon to look at what the ultrasound scan shows as a lesion on my liver.

Maybe that doesn't sound like particularly good news, but it's good news from my point of view because the more they look at and the more the rule out, the more likely they are to find out what is actually wrong with me and then maybe they can fix it. So that makes me happier.

I can't do anything about the crappy metabolism genes I've got, but that can be managed and it'll be a lot easier if I don't have to worry about heart problems when exercising. Also, I've dropped 11lbs and got my cholesterol levels down into normal range, from simple dietary changes I can sustain permanently. That'll help my heart.

So that's my happy news. Well, fairly happy. I'll be happier if they find a fixable cause, but ruling stuff out and continuing the investigation is good news.

The bulb in my fridge went out, now it's lost all that Schrödinger-esque mystery appeal :( Of course, the food might have gone off... :)

Got a buyer for my beloved Q6600 PC. The first PC I built with new parts. I'm gonna miss it as I have a somewhat sentimental attachment to it but its for the best as I really use my laptop all the time instead now and with the money from it I shall be buying a big TV :D

My nieces and nephews in Stoke who are home schooled by their mum (qualified teacher). They're aged around 7yrs average but are studying at the level equivalent to an 11 year old in today's schools.

I was surprised at how easy it was to sit with them and hold a grown up conversation without issue and with my granddad recently passing away, seeing how they dealt with it was pretty amazing.

Kudos to amazing parenting/teaching tbh and a worthy addition for a Happy thread I think!
