can you go anywhere in mirrors edge or can you only go by the red marked routes? Forexample on the above screen shot can you run to the left or right or are there invisible walls?

You should turn the red off, its much for fun and makes the game last way longer.
Mirrors edge, FO3 and CoD WaW.
Shame it doesn't support 5:4 or 4:3 properly:
God no, the reason I usually can't be bothered with action/adventure games is because I HATE having to look where to go, it's the reason I can't stand playing games like tomb raider... If the red would be off I'd have given the game up in 15 minutes. It's way too hard and takes too long.

Sorry, it's not like i come in here to read the entire thread so i can play a guessing game. Not hard to write a title above a picture, especially if you can take the time to write specs
