Working on a computer helpdesk, and today I am using a 1GHz Pentium 3 with 256mb of memory..

What makes it worse is that the library catalogue machines (for students to search for books) sit there all day with a single webpage open, running on 2.4Ghz, 1gig memory, hyperthreaded P4s!!!!!!!!

No way!!!!!!!!!!!!

My computer at work is far too fast for most things that I do on it (word processing and browsing the internet mainly) but occasionally I need to do some intensive numerical simulations, so I guess it's good for that.

It's part of a UNIX workgroup thingy, which I think means that in principle if I need more computing power I can borrow it from other computers on the network. I don't know too much about that kind of thing.

My internet machine is a HP Celeron 1Ghz with 512MB, 20GB HDD, onboard graphics and XP!

My 'real work' machine is a 2.4Ghz P4 of some sort, managed by the out sourcerer.

Dual 3GHz Hyperthreaded Xeon with 2Gb RAM - still feels sluggish thanks to all the crap they load onto them as standard.

Dell Optiplex GX620 here so a 3.4ghz P4 with 1GB RAM, it's ok for what I run on it, which isn't very much.

intel pentium 3
801 mhz
384mb ram
onboard graphics

admittedly quicker than a lot of hardware i supply, but not much consolation when running multiple processes

P4 2.6 Ghz, onboard graphics and sound.

Used to have 256MB RAM which was TERRIBLE [my colleague's PC was actually running 128MB RAM with XP] but after my advice the office upgraded to 768MB, which is much better. :p

These PCs are fine for surfing, Outlook and Word. We don't really need them for much else.

Majority of our PC's are P3's with 64MB RAM running windows 98. Got to love how much money Wedgwood UK actually has at the moment. We are still on an NT4 domain FFS.

My work laptop is a P4 3.0GHz, 1.25GB RAM, 80GB Hard Drive, WXP. And I still kill it by running too much at once. We just don't have the money nor resources.

10Mhz, 256k Ram, Dos OS.... Were getting new ones in March, but they been like this for the last decade or so

Dell Optiplex GX 240 at the minute. 1gb of Ram though.

It's "ok" for what I do, but theres a Optiplex 745 2.4ghz core duo 2 with 2gb of ram in the workshop waiting to be built and its mine :D

Mine is a P4 1.8ghz with 512mb of RAM. There are others that I could have that are faster and better but I like this one and it's got all of my programs on it that I can't be bothered to install on one of the SFF machines we get now. I only use it now and again so it's not worth the bother really I don't think.
