Might as well have a thread on all things indoor plants.

The main thing I put a bit of effort into is my bonsai tree. It's currently very autumnal at the moment as I was away for a spell and it got a bit too dry, but I'm slowly getting it back to it's former glory.

When I had plants, if I was going away, I would put all the plants in the bath, & fill it with about 3" or so of water, enough water to last nearly two weeks.

Took drastic action with my tree, removed the leaves and made it a bit more presentable. Few new leaf buds already appearing so hopefully it'll be a bit more lush come summer.

I've found that cats and house plants do not cohabit very well,
one tribe makes them sick and the other tribe rips them bodily from their muddy abodes and scatters their remains over the carpet.

The look of innocence is worth a few laughs though

I've never really done any gardening before but I'd like to start growing something on my windowsills.

I want to grow something edible. At the moment I'm leaning towards chillies. Do any of you grow your own? Can you recommend any varieties, something exotic/spicy/flavoursome?

I've just seen a book entitled Grow Your Own Drugs (not the fun kind!) and I was wondering if I could grow something a little more interesting than chillies?
