went to the lovely Rubery to see this last night. didnt actually know anything about it beforehand, so imagine my delight when Clive Owen and Denzel Washington star in it!

it's a pretty damn good film, direction credit to Spike Lee; it's wonderfully shot, and very well-written...i'd definitely recommend it to anyone who fancies the cinema but doesnt really know what to see!

it's also yet more confirmation that Denzel Washington is my favourite actor, but brilliant performances all round!

if you've seen this, please try and keep it spoiler-free. thanks :)

The only thing I hated about that film is that Spike Lee can't make a movie without there being a race issue in it. Or the use of the 'n' word.

well, it was set in New York and heavily involved the NYPD. i was always under the impression that race was a bit of a hot topic with regards to the law and the US. some of the race-based dialogue seemed a bit wooden, but there were some pretty good one liners in it, a lot of the humour was really well-timed imho

i really enjoyed that film, i think going with no expectations and knowing nothing about the story or plot was the best way to see it.
there are a few excellent one liners that got the whole cinema laughing, and the soundtrack was pretty good too (Chaiyya Chaiyya - Bollywood Joint, opening track, absolutely awesome). the direction was great, and the actors really well chosen. well worth a watch :)

my one-liner was the best :D

The song which plays at the start of the movie, as well as during the ending credits is an Indian song composed by Indian musician A.R Rahman called "Chaiyya Chaiyya".
