The Intel Arc owners thread

Oh dear. Did you update the BIOS before installing the new CPU?

The symptoms you describe are classic signs of overheating and - many years ago - I cooked a CPU by incorrectly mounting the cooler; did you remove the film from the bottom of the cooler? As for the video output, try resetting the CMOS by removing the battery for 30 seconds. If you have the equipment you might check the battery's charge and replace it if it is under 3.1V. Something else to check is the 2400G - check if there are bent pins.

Did you accidentally knock the cpu cables. Make sure you check the cables from psu to motherboard and they are fully connected. Have to agree with @Quartz it does sound like an over heating problem.

Yeah I updated my BIOS to F53g and with the 5600 it did go into bios and stuff. I removed the film and tried the cooler with my 2400g which had no shutdowns (but I couldn't get a signal to monitor at that point). I looked at both CPUs they seem fine

I thought that myself and pushed every cable in again but had no luck.

ChatGPT says my ram configuration has sent my board in a doom loop and I need to try it with 1 stick. Will do that tomorrow

I managed to sort out my PC. Got the 5600 installed and working properly. Haven't opened the B580 yet. Maybe tomorrow.

I have a 4k 60hz monitor. It will be fine just setting the resolution to 1440p on it and using a B580+5600 right

I'm not sure if I have bought this card at a bad time considering there's rumours of a B770 coming out soon and maybe the celestial cards next year...but equally who can be bothered waiting. Just dont want to spend £230 and find it outdated soon

Even if they do release a B770, it’ll be months away and quite a lot more expensive than the B580. They’ve pretty much missed the boat for launching another desktop battlemage card.
Best just install the card and use it now. No point keeping it in the box.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the 4k performance of the B580 with medium settings, particularly in older games, and in more modern games if you use upscaling.

Anyone used the Sparkle Intel ARC A310 Omni in an NAS with an AMD CPU for Plex transcoding? I have a N5 NAS and looking for a 1U GPU to build out the setup.

I installed my B580 and I just cant get it to stay at 60fps on Battlefield 6. Its paired with a 5600

Not sure if its the card or CPU. I think I was getting 60fps when using the 1060 on 1080p/low so im guessing it just doesnt pair well with the B580

Probably going to send it back if i cant fix it

Rebar on ? https://www.intel.com/content/www/u...hics/intel-arc-dedicated-graphics-family.html

I can get 60fps high quality settings @ 1440p native with some drops into the 50's, but I have 5700x3d. To get a higher framerate I use XeSS with low quality settings except for textures.

Yes I have Rebar on. Latest Intel Drivers. Used DDU to remove the NVIDIA ones.

So I have a 4k 60hz monitor. I've been playing it at 4k High and Xess quality. It ranges between 53-60fps.

I've tried it on medium/xess balanced and performance and its the same. Just wont get a stable 60fps.

I see my CPU on 80 to 90% usuage at times but when you read the benchmarks for the 5600 on Battlefield 6 apparently people can get it at 90-100 at 1080p

I cant figure it out!

It was stable 60fps with a 5600 + 1060 6gb...so I think its something to do with this pairing.

But I've tried setting it at 1440p and stuff and it still stutters about between 50-60.

I'm going to stick with it for a week and try to fix it but if i cant ill probably send it back and wait for a 9060 xt 16gb sale

Positive report of BF6 on a B580 at 4k from Reddit

Regardless of buying or waiting - and there are only rumours about the B770, nothing concrete - I think you would be well advised to also upgrade your CPU to a 5700X3D. Just remember to upgrade the BIOS first.
Im reading through that and the guy who posted it is using a 5800X3D. But I only have a 5600.

I guess the performance hit on lower CPUs is still quite bad despite the recent improvements I heard about. Annoying
