Here is what is interesting on the video "audio" recording. The voice memo does not seem to have the horrible sound. So either;

1. There are 2 issues, one the hiss and one audio recording (which could be software based on the above) or
2. Video recording makes the hiss worse and this is what is recorded

Is this hissing business mainly on the plus? No noise at all from my 7.

Take a (slient) video and put it up here and we can check if it's silent, or if you're not hearing it

When people on 3 are able to get a 4G connection, what speeds are you getting? I got a download speed 69.53Mbps and upload of 27.32Mbps last night.

The coil whine noise occurs when the SoC/storage are under load (I'm not sure which). As video recording puts a lot more strain on the phone than just audio recording, it would make sense that you hear the noise more when recording video than just audio.

I'll have a play later and see if I can recreate this on my 7+.

Yeah... ee has amazing 4G speeds if you are in the area that is covered.

I can definitely hear a buzzing noise when holding the back of the phone to my ear. Can also hear a hissing noise when playing back videos which have been recorded in a quiet room.

Doesn't bother me too much tbh but will be interested to see what the outcome is.

I am not sure. Reason I say that is because the sound being recorded (well in my experience) is constant. The coil whine I heard was a variable sound.

Also surely the current one I have (which has near 0db coil whine) the noise recorded would be lower?

Not sure if it's the low-power cores in the new A10 but the battery life on this thing is nuts.

Last charged mine on Sunday. Currently at 6h3m usage and 58h24m standby with 29% remaining.

So does anyone know if there's a new Three network setttings file for the 7 and 7 Plus? I've just got a 7 Plus and where my old SE got one bar of 4G coverage, my 7 Plus gets one bar of 3G and frequently drops to no service.
