I picked this up this morning, eagerly anticipating it since its announcement.

Had a few listen and its is simply amazing, Way better than Sams Town, this is a close second to Hot Fuss IMO :D

After my first few listens here are my initial ratings.

Losing Touch 10/10
Human 9/10
Spaceman 9/10
Joy Ride 10/10
A Dustland Fairytale 10/10
This Is Your Life 10/10
I Can't Stay 10/10
Neon Tiger 10/10
The World We Live In 8/10
Goodnight, Travel Well 10/10
A Crippling Blow (Bonus Track) 8/10
 
I've not heard the rest of the album yet (gonna check it out later) and this is just my opinion but that 'human' song is an absolute turd of a song. When you put it next to Hot Fuss, it really is pathetic. Still, I'm gonna give em chance to redeem themselves. Hopefully they will.
 
Used to love the Killers, but didn't like the majority of Sam's Town, didn't enjoy them at Leeds Festival as much as I thought I would and they didn't play Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll, they played loads from Sawdust though, which I didn't even bother with.

However from what I've heard of the new album so far it sounds better than Sam's Town, which can only be a good thing.
 
aye the album is much closer to Hot fuss that it is to Sam's town which imo is great !

I really did not like Sam's Town. So this is quite refreshing. Very good album.

Seeing them at the LG arena should be a good gig hopefully :D
 
I'll take the OP with a pinch of salt as he gives Human 9/10

To say that Human was the first single off the album is a very worrying sign indeed.

Will listen to the previews on iTunes and report back.
 
Its ok in my opinion ands that about it! The first 4 tracks I can listen to ok after that I drift off!.

I have to say it doest match up with Hot Fuss and Sams Town of which I find hard to say whats better :(!

Wow thats very high praise. Just picked it up from Morrisons for £6.99. Listening to it now. Its very diverse, which I like.

Hope its as good as you say.

shocking, its not even as good as sams town, extremely disappointed. losing touch is the only decent song and i dont think that wouldnt have made it into hot fuss. Its goodbye to good music from The Killers im affraid, glad i bought a rise against ticket before the killers as its on the same day :P

Bang on the money, the album is a shocker. Just what the hell has happened to the Killers. Hot Fuss was one of the greatest debut albums iv heard, sams town was pretty poor, then this!

I think your score is premature. This album gets better every time you listen to it. I first thought it wasn't that good, but now I am loving it. Classic Killers :)

ill give it another few listens obviously but i really dont think its classic killers :(

I know. I can't see how people can score an album after one or two listens saying its '****' or 'fantastic'. I had one listen last nigh night and I'm going to have a another listen now. I'll let you know at the end of the week what I think about it.

I think Human is a grower though, people are slating it left right and centre, but I think its a good song. Also its come in at NO. 3 in the charts, is that the killers highest charting single?
