thought it might be nice for us to have a thread to show off our new kitchen and cookery related hardware purchases.

Thread rules!!

Pictures are always helpful, but not essential- even stick a stock image up so we know exactly what it is we're talking about.
Discussion should be a given, we're all in this subforum because we enjoy cooking/food/spending time in the kitchen.

Its always nice to see some interesting items as well as getting a feel on what people are using and how they find them

so budding chefs of OCUK, show us what your buying

picked up a new Kmix last night for a bargaintastic £190

the wife and I both enjoy a bit of baking, mainly bread and cakes and we've had a great experience with our current Kenwood Chef which has been fantastic, we happened to be in Makro last night and clocked this at a good price and couldn't resist.

granted I would have preffered to get the same but with a white trim or even the lovely stripey one they offer but at £100 off retail I wasn't going to complain about the almond finish

our current chef which has served us well

out the box and looking rather mean

its a heavy bit of kit due to an all metal construction and I have to say it certainly feels a lot better built than the chef

some snazzy LED lights and simple controls are always a winner

have to say I like the folding in function it has which should be handy for various things

actually has a lower opening height than the chef as well, I cant open the chef up fully and have it sitting under the kitchen cupboards or it hits, with the Kmix I don't have to worry about positioning on the worktop.

There is only one instant read thermometer that you should buy, the thermapen. Accurate to 0.1C within a second or two and very narrow probe, its great. But at £57.60 from the official site its an expensive bit of kit. However the company that makes them (ETI) sells refurbished models on Ebay. The come in a proper box, all retested and no different from a new one, all for £28.80, a bargain in my eyes.

You star, I have been looking to pick up a cheap one of these but didn't want to end up buying a fake. :D
