Well... after nightmares all last night about bending pins in the CPU transplant, it has now been successfully done

7800X3D. Running OK so far, will not be testing games until later on when I get the chance.

well.. i must say, one of the best chips ive had, performance is great and the small amount of wattage it uses is very impressive!

What sort of deal did you get on it?

I was using a 7900x3d for a while and was very impressed with it despite it getting slated for being the worst of the x3d line up at the time I saw very little real world performance difference Vs the 7950x3d I put in to replace it.

Nothing special, just over £350 but interest free payment, will only take a couple of months to square up…

Played pubg last night and since my 7900X the frame rates have increased a lot in that game specifically, and more smoothness which I’m guessing is the 1% lows boosted.
