Phone works
Internet doesn't
Router doesn't connect to exchange
Switch works in the house and all Pcs are connected including wireless
The problem must be somewhere between the router and just outside the hoise

Talk talk say everything seems ok at exchange etc

It's either the microfilter or just a small part of the router or the cable from router to the microfilter

If talk talk send an engineer and they find its internal I get charged.

Anyone come across this before? I can't believe it's the cable

it happens a lot, your router's DSL modem got a big jolt of electricity and that part's broken. Thankfully it didn't take out anything else. Try a spare modem / router?

Ah yes I'm glad it didn't get to the gigabit switch and everything attach
I remembered to unplug everything else.

I was surprised the phone didn't get it too so suspected the microfilter

Do all DSL wireless routers contain a modem now?

Had this issue recently turned out to be the microfilters causing it. Thankfully too as it was only two months after the plumbers killed my router (putting me on my spare) when they tripped the electrics.
