Debian Developers Take To Voting Over Init System Diversity

After public comments, the eight options for voting by Debian developers include:
Choice 1: F: Focus on systemd
Choice 2: B: Systemd but we support exploring alternatives
Choice 3: A: Support for multiple init systems is Important
Choice 4: D: Support non-systemd systems, without blocking progress
Choice 5: H: Support portability, without blocking progress
Choice 6: E: Support for multiple init systems is Required
Choice 7: G: Support portability and multiple implementations
Choice 8: Further Discussion

Apparently Debian isn't exactly known for being fast when it comes to making changes or decisions...

The Gnome developer is funny because he wanted 10% of the market yet solves Gnome issues like desktop shortcuts by removing functions and deleting code.

Receiving the most votes was Proposal B, which is "Systemd but we support exploring alternatives."

This comes up short for those that desired Debian to simply focus on systemd or at the opposite end requiring support for multiple init systems.

Pretty surprised how quickly this happened considering the arguments systemd caused and all the people that left for Devuan.
