Ive just seen this game on Steam and its highly rated, gamespot gave it a good review at the time too, and userscores look high aswell.

Well the thing is, im pretty damn bored and a cheap interesting game might be just the ticket!.

Anyone played this game and able to comment?

are graphics awful or anything?

Just obtained it myself after seeing it on steam and checking metascore. The 3d graphics are very dated (unsurprising for a game released in 2000), however the 2d backdrops are beautifully drawn. The voice acting starts off rather poorly, however you can tell the actors (particularly the protagonist) learn as they go and get better throughout the games progression.

The story at the point i'm at is very intriuging and continues to suck me in more as a go. The most notable part of the game for me is the music, which is utterly brilliant.

To get it to run flawlessly make sure you run it in win95 compatability!

Thanks for the reply mate. There is also dreamfall which is the followup and it has numerous accolades, the graphics look quite nice on that too.

I think i might treat myself, For the cost of a couple of pints i cant lose i suppose!

I got this on Steam recently too, I really enjoyed it. No compatibility problems on Vista 64 either. I don't usually play adventure games, but this had me hooked from start to finish. The resolution is a bit low, but that ceased to be an issue for me after the first half hour or so, as I became more engrossed in the story.

I'm currently playing Dreamfall, which whilst kinder on the eye, is not quite as enjoyable. It's similar to reading a trilogy of books, where the later books aren't as good as the first; it can be a chore at times, but you want to find out what happens to the characters.
