The longest song you know of

This is the song that never ends,
It goes on and on my friends
when people started singing it
not knowing what it was,
They'll continue singing it
forever just because.....
 
Don't know about that, but when we were younger we used to go to the local working men's club to play snooker & always put the full version of American Pie on the jukebox, it provided the best value for money at over 12 minutes long :D
 
The longest song I listen to regularly is probably 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulence by Dream Theater, they spilt it up until several shorter songs so it's easier to skip to parts you like, but it can be listened to as a whole song, it's 46 minutes in length iirc.

I'm sure there are some ridiculously long Operas around though, the Ring Cycle springs to mind.
 
Discluding both halves of 'Shine on you crazy diamond'. Echoes by Floyd goes on for a good 21 minutes. Most welcomed actually. Unlike Dogs...
 
Cream did a live version of Spoonful which lasted about twenty minutes. Another obvious one is Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin which lasts the best part of eighteen and a half minutes iirc.
 
Ooh, My Bloody Valentine used to make a single chord in the song 'You Made Me Realise' last 20+ minutes or so when they played it live. It's only a 3 or 4 minute song.
