The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria

I'm a bit behind in that (again), only finished Yondershire region about a month ago, so now got 4 regions I've not started. 16 years, its a heck of a lot of content, I started playing it just after the Steam release, over 10 years ago.
I'm a founder and started playing during beta. I only drop in and out of it occasionally now so I'm also way behind but I always enjoy it when I do play, though the mid-air direction change still strikes me as one of the most ridiculous things that are still there.

I can think of some things more ridiculous than that, the chicken run to Mount Doom is one of the memorable ones. Well I suppose they did prove it was possible!

Also, the Tolkien Professor is playing a very slow game - he started about 8 years ago, and I've just had a look to see how far he is up to now, and has recently got to Minas Tirith - at the rate he is going Gondor alone looks like it could take over 2 years (he started that phase in October 2021); Rohan took him 89 play sessions. The gap between where he is in the game and the end may still be the same as it was 8 years ago. Still, its nice the devs built a lecture theatre for him in Bree; the only game I know of where anything like that has ever happened.

I remember doing the chicken run though it was way before Mount Doom, so we only did it from the Shire to Rivendell IIRC :D

Ended up watching part of one of the Professor's videos - it makes you appreciate how much effort has gone into the details of the game. The bit I watched included the statues of the Kings and Stewards in Minas Tirith - think he is going to explore the pubs as well [its also the only game I know of with a pub crawl in it, that mainly in the Shire]. Just like the old days when I used to watch the early streams, then he really got excited by the architecture in and around Bree.
